BIOGRAPHY

Amy Adelman is interim senior vice president and general counsel.

Adelman has served the University since 2003, most recently as a deputy general counsel, where she manages the University’s litigation portfolio and serves as a member of the Office of the General Counsel leadership team. In addition to litigation, her primary practice areas include employment law, faculty issues, student matters, and other issues specific to higher education.  

At Emory, Adelman was a founding member of the University’s Threat Assessment Team and continues to co-lead the team. She received the 2008 Emory University Campus Life Awards of Service for dedication in supporting the mission of Campus Life. She is an active member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).

Prior to joining Emory in 2003, Adelman was a partner with Kilpatrick Townsend in its labor and employment law section. She is a member of the Georgia Bar and has coauthored articles in such publications as the Employee Relations Law Journal. She has spoken extensively on a variety of employment law topics.

Adelman is a graduate of Newcomb College of Tulane University, where she received a BA, cum laude, in International Relations. She received a JD from Washington University School of Law.
