Biography

Stephanie Maffett is a transactional attorney focusing on health care transactions and health care and non-health-care-related information technology. She began her legal career as an associate with the Atlanta firm of Kilpatrick Stockton and from 1996 to 2000 was assistant counsel in Emory’s Office of General Counsel. She then served as senior counsel to a California-based software firm before stopping work for several years to raise her family. Prior to rejoining the Emory Office of General Counsel in 2011, Stephanie had her own law firm. She was a Henry L. Bowden Scholar and member of Phi Beta Kappa at Emory University, where she received a BA in economics. She holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was notes editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law. Prior to attending law school, Stephanie worked for the United States Department of Energy in its Office of Hearings and Appeals. Stephanie is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
